A slice of Americana awaits you in our beautiful, but
growing, small town located in glorious Northwest Washington State nestled
between the Cascades/Mount Rainer and the Puget Sound.
We are located
about 15 miles north of Olympia, WA (our state capitol) and about 20 miles south
of Tacoma, WA along the I-5 corridor off Exits 118 and 119 adjacent to and
minutes from Fort Lewis.
Though incorporated in 1951, the area was first
seen by outsiders in 1792, when British Captain George Vancouver and a party of
explorers cruised down the body of water he named Puget Sound. In 1833, the
Hudson's Bay Company set up shop on the site in a trading post called Fort
Nisqually and in time our town would host a major U.S. scientific expedition
which is still landmarked today.
